Not only has Valencia become one of the homes of the America’s Cup, even without this great event it is without a doubt one of the liveliest cities in Spain.

It is located on the Mediterranean coast south of Barcelona by 349km, west of Madrid by 352km and north of Alicante by 166 km with a busy airport.

There are many great beaches right in the heart of the area offering a great variety of sports and water activities.

Its population is approximately one million, making a medium-sized city, easy and comfortable to get around and discover, but with a big city feel. If you are after culture then Valencia has plenty to offer with the new City of Arts and Sciences boasting an opera house, imax cinema, planetarium, science museum, open air oceanographic park and is itself a stunning example of modern architecture. After all that you will definitely be hungry, so now you have the chance to try Spain's most famous food right where it was born, Paella Valenciana.
